The Groom:

When I first met Monica, there was an immediate connection. With both of us on the night shift, our schedules aligned perfectly, and we understood each other’s unique routines. We bonded over our shared love of food, enjoying restaurant hunts and cooking experiments whenever we could. I discovered that we both love traveling and spent a lot of time together discussing our next destination to explore. We are so blessed to have friends and family who have traveled all this way to celebrate with us, and we want you to know that every one of you is special to us. Thank you!

The Bride:

Vincent came into my life at an unexpected time when I was not looking for a partner but for more friendship in my life. I had never been on a real date or had a significant other before Vincent. It was my last year of nursing school in Galveston, Texas, when I was seeking more friendship and was advised to go on Bumble as a way to meet more people in Texas. I was on a night shift rotation when I went on Bumble and messaged Vincent first. My first impression of Vincent, based on the pictures he used on Bumble, was that he was handsome, possibly a great cook, and he had a fantastic-appearing body (of course, he used pictures of how fit he was in the military). Our first meet-up was at a Thai restaurant. Instead of casual wear, Vincent wore his police uniform since he had to go to work afterward. I had never had such special treatment from the waiters out of respect. The staff was so polite and welcoming. Vincent and I had instant chemistry. I am convinced Vincent did a background check on me as he guessed my favorite music artists (Backstreet Boys & NSYNC), favorite color, and birthday correctly. It turned out we had more things in common than we thought, such as the same birthday month, and we clicked from our shared history of overseas travels. I found myself wanting to get to know Vincent more. After our first meet-up, we decided to go on a date in the Houston Museum District. We went to an art gallery, ate lunch, walked around Rice University, and went to a movie afterward. I found myself liking Vincent not only for his good looks but for who he is as a person. I would drive an hour from Galveston just to see Vincent in Houston, and I did not want to be apart from him. If you get to know Vincent, it is easy to understand why he can keep his friendships for a long time. He is the most comical, strong, hard-working, fantastic cook, and handsome guy, and I am lucky I can call him mine. It will be seven years and two dogs later when I can finally marry my best friend. #HappyLieverafter
